 Mr. Karavan is a native of Wildwood New Jersey. He graduated from Villanova University in 1996 receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree and obtained a law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1982.Mr. Karavan was admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1983 and the New York bar in 1995. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court.

He has extensive experience in municipal government, having served as municipal solicitor, ABC solicitor, special counsel, special tax counsel and municipal hearing officer in numerous municipalities in Cape May County.

Mr. Karavan also has extensive trial experience  and served as defense counsel for the New Jersey Highway Authority with regard to complex negligence cases and federal civil rights claims filed against the New Jersey Highway Authority, the State of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Police. Additionally, he has litigated complex land-use cases before the Appellate Division and Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey which resulted in reported decisions. Mr. Karavan was a member of the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association of Trial Lawyers and is the general counsel for the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church located in North Wildwood, New Jersey. His current practice focuses on municipal law, civil trial litigation and zoning and planning matters.

Mr. Karavan resides in the Borough of Wildwood Crest, N.J.
